5 Best places to visit in Turkey

Acting as a gateway between Europe and Asia for thousands of years, travelers visit Turkey from all over the globe. So, what has made Turkey so famous around the world? Well, it’s rich and infectious, thanks to its diverse sights and sounds with exotic locales, lip-smacking cuisine, innumerable monuments and great hospitality. So, let’s take you for a tour of Turkey with the 5 best places to visit, shall we?

Istanbul

Stretching across a narrow strait that connects Asia and Europe, Istanbul is the only city in the world spanning two continents. Marvelous architecture, historic sites, beautiful landscapes, delectable dishes have all made Istanbul a must-visit place in Turkey. Once you are there, visit Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and The Grand Bazaar.

Cappadocia

It lies in Central Anatolia. What’s fascinating about the place is that natural processes such as volcanic eruptions have resulted in unusual formations of cones and pinnacles here. A few underground cities once housed upward of 20,000 people here. What earlier was a beautiful piece of landscape has now transformed into wonderful cave hotels for tourists.

Ephesus

You can spot one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the famous Temple of Artemis. The ruins of Ephesus have been well-preserved within a large archaeological site. This makes it an unmissable spot in Turkey. You can also see great Greek Theater and the popular Celsus Library here.

Bodrum

What was once home to Mausoleum is today known for its mesmerizing beaches and cliff-top resorts. On your travel to Bodrum, visit castle of St. Peter or affectionately called Bodrum Castle.  Bodrum is also full of bazaars, cafes, bars and nightclubs to chill and unwind in your Turkey adventures.

Ankara

Home to government buildings, commercial businesses, universities and foreign embassies, Ankara is a beautiful modern city and the capital of Turkey. It has many museums which boast of Turkey’s rich culture and civilization. Ankara is also a prominent transportation hub that link travelers to other major destinations in Turkey. Plus, it has spectacular parks and great shopping centers.
