Although most of us are biased to the 4th of July celebrations at home, there are many other countries that celebrate their Independence with great pomp. Here is a list of 8 amazing Independence Day Celebrations across the globe, so that you can plan a trip and book plane tickets for the same:

  1. Ghana: 6th March: Ghana gained its independence from the UK in 1957. It became the first-ever African country to do so. With parades, street parties and parties on the beach, the day is a big party. You can book your air tickets to Ghana to enjoy the same.
  • India: 15th August: India gained its independence from Britishers on 15th August 1947. This historic day is celebrated with full enthusiasm across the country for which preparations begin months ago. From flag hoisting at the Red Fort early in the morning, celebrations begin across offices, schools and colleges. The function includes people, mostly children performing in tricolor theme, marching parade across the premises.
  • Indonesia: 17th August: Gaining Independence after 300-year long Dutch colonization, Indonesia celebrates the day with flag-waving, fireworks, and parades.   • Philippines: 2nd June: Dedicated to family bonding, Filipinos enjoy the day by feasting on delicious food the entire day. After the early morning parade, the entire day is spent by going to family or friend gatherings to enjoy food and the day.
